Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Catalyst supports diversity, equity, and inclusion within our company and in the greater community.

DEI Committee
Catalyst created our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee in 2020. This committee meets bi-weekly to further its mission to promote a culture and community of openness, learning, and advocacy so all team members feel psychologically safe, valued, respected, and empowered to develop to their full potential. The Catalyst DEI committee is focused on growing the diverse representation of our workforce and serving our community to aid in the goal of ending systemic racism and prejudice in our country.

Diversity in Design Program

Through our committee's efforts, Catalyst has become a part of the Diversity in Design (DID) Network, a subset of The Diversity in Design Collaborative, which was founded in June 2021. This collaboration aims to drive systemic change by promoting diversity and improving conditions for Black creatives in the design industry. By emphasizing shared values, collaborative approaches, and measurable action plans, DID is dedicated to achieving outcomes of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Catalyst has partnered for the second consecutive year with MillerKnoll, Interior Architects (IA), and Youthforce to initiate the DID program locally. The joint objective is to enhance diversity and inclusivity in the design industry while introducing students of color to the world of design and architecture. The Seattle DID cohort engages in an extensive program featuring site visits, workshops, and in-depth design projects in various areas such as Retail, Interior, Virtual, Furniture, and Experiential design.

Supplier Diversity

Catalyst is pleased to announce the initiation of our Supplier Diversity Program, a key element of our commitment to diversity and inclusion. Our program is designed to establish a baseline for supplier diversity, enabling us to actively identify, engage, and support diverse suppliers, including those owned by minorities, women, veterans, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people with disabilities. We will set performance metrics, provide training for our teams, and continually improve our efforts. This program reflects our dedication to building a more inclusive supply chain, fostering innovation, and strengthening our organization's commitment to diversity.
