Green Thumb Basket

This gift basket would be perfect for a seasoned plant caretaker or a beginner plant parent. This basket has all the tools needed to care for and maintain indoor plants. All you need to do is get plants and soil!

Included Items:

Moisture Meter – Essential for an accurate read on when your plant is thirsty, especially during the damp and dark Seattle winters.

Gardening Shears – A luxurious addition to your home plant equipment, perfect for pruning or propagating little plant babies (another excellent gift idea for friends and family!)

Gardening Gloves – Work gloves help with heavy or prickly plant handling

Plant Mister – A great tool for cleaning the dust off your plant’s leaves and provides added hydration when watering isn’t necessary

Plant Lights – Another essential for both Seattleites and non-PNWers during winter! This full spectrum plant light provides necessary UV rays for survival in darker months or when they’re placed far from windows all year round.

Where to Buy:

Nightshade Plants and Tattoos - Queen Anne - This local gem has a huge selection of plants, gardening tools, and oddities (their butterfly domes are a personal favorite of mine for non-plant-related gift giving). They’re also the only national plant and tattoo studio!

Boosh
Central District/Judkins Park – This is another of my favorite places to browse for new houseplants to add to my collection. They’re black-owned, so if you’re looking to support some minority-owned businesses this year for the holidays, this one is a must-visit!

City People’s Garden Store
Madison Valley - They have a huge selection of plants and other gifts, a great one-stop shop!

Game Fanatic Basket

For the board game geek on your list, this basket has a good array. I'm certain there's at least one game in here that even an avid gamer is missing from their collection.

Included:

Scattergories: A creative thinking, party-based game. The objective of the 2-to-6-player game is to score points by uniquely naming objects within a set of categories, given an initial letter, within a time limit.

Seven Wonders: You are the leader of one of the seven great cities of the Ancient World. Gather resources, develop commercial routes, and affirm your military supremacy. Build your city and erect an architectural wonder which will transcend future times.

Blockbuster: A Movie Party Game for the whole family. Bring back the golden era of video rentals with a movie game for teenagers and adults alike

What do you Meme?: Compete with your friends and family to create the funniest memes. Do this by using one of your dealt caption cards to caption the photo card in each round.

Phase Ten: The Rummy-type card game with a twist! Be the first player to complete 10 varied phases with two sets of three, one run of seven, or seven cards with the same color.

Where to Buy:

Mox Boarding House - Ballard, Bellevue - Both a store and restaurant, Mox lets you borrow games from its ample library (or buy them), then settle in to play at one of the long tables, with drinks and a full menu.

Meeples Games
- West Seattle - Meeples store and cafe contains all sorts of games, but you’ll consistently find groups playing Magic: The Gathering, Warhammer, and Pokémon.

Manhattan Mania web
Michael's Pick #1

Manhattan Mania

For my last-minute gift ideas, here are two boozy baskets that are sure to satisfy your friends and loved ones. My first basket is aptly named “Manhattan Mania”.

Included:

Michter’s Bourbon - A great manhattan starts with a great bourbon.

Antica Sweet Vermouth - A staple for any home bar.

Angostura Bitters - I went with Fee Brothers, but Scrappy's is a local company if you'd like to support local!

Brandied Cherries - Brandied > Maraschino, every time.

Cocktail Shaker Set - There are so many out there that you can pick a set that reflects your recipient's personal style. The one I picked has a shaker, bar spoon, drink jigger, and muddler.

Hand-Written Recipe Card - For a personal touch.

Fancy Toothpicks - Gotta have something to spear that cherry, you might as well make it fancy.

Negroni Time web
Michael's Pick #2

Negroni Time

I’m calling the next basket, “It’s Negroni Time!” Negronis are a crowd favorite and were one of the most popular drinks of 2022

Included:

Sun Liquor Gin - I went with a tasty local gin.

Dopo Teatro Sweet Vermouth - Because it already has bitters in it!

Campari - Great for Negronis, Americanos, Spritz... I could go on...

Cocktail Shaker Set and Hand-Written Recipe Card - Same reasons as above, for this basket you could add in a citrus zester.

Orange (or two) - for garnish

Where to Buy:

Esquin Wine and Spirits - SODO - I got most of these items for both baskets from Esquin Wine and Spirits, and they were super helpful.

Insta Fun web
Cindy's Pick #2

Insta Fun Basket

Who doesn't love an instant camera, great for parties and just everyday captures. This basket has everything a burgeoning instant photographer needs.

Included:

Kodak Step Instant Camera - Not your mom's polaroid, with a 10MP sensor and no-ink technology, this produces fast, fun instant photos.

Extra Photo Paper - What fun is an instant camera without lots of photo paper?

Photo Pens - Write on your photos or in your scrapbook with these photo pens

Stickers - To embellish your photos

Mini Clothespins and Twine - Gotta hang them up too, right?

Camera Bag - Keeps your camera close at hand so you don't miss a photo opp.

Photo Album - How often do we look through these anymore? Great for coffee tables everywhere.

Where to Buy:

Have to admit, we went to Amazon for this one, and it can be hard to know if a local photography shop will have it in stock. But the big box stores will have it if you're unable to find it at a small business in your neighborhood.

Coffee Lovers web
Monika's Pick

Coffee Lover's Basket

We all have a coffee lover in our family that may be hard to shop for, this basket will hit the spot!

Included:

Coffee - I went with a local, whole-bean coffee from Cafe Vita, but with so many local roasters in Seattle, I'm sure you can find a great bag at your local coffee shop.

Mugs - Easy to tailor to your recipient. Get something that will fit nicely into their hands and home.

Milk Frother - Makes every drink a whipped dream

Stroopwafels - If you haven't tried one of these yet, buy another set for yourself! They're delicious thin waffles with caramel inside, perfect for dipping into a hot mug of coffee. See also: Biscotti if you can't find stroopwafels.

Theo Chocolates - Who doesn't love a great chocolate bar or two? We recommend a holiday flavor from one of Seattle's local chocolatiers, We chose Theo, but Franz and Seattle Chocolate are also great choices. Or, if you want to go with a South End fav, Almond Roca makes a peppermint version that's just *chef's kiss*!

Gift Card - Round it out with a gift card to your local coffee shop, which gives your recipient a chance to come to your hood and join you for a coffee date!

Where to Buy:

Your Local Coffee Shop, or

For a one-stop-shop, try a Town & Country Market - Many Locations throughout the Puget Sound - Wonderful, locally owned markets with a genuine connection to each of the communities they serve.

That's Our List!

We hope we helped with a few ideas to round out your list this year, Happy Holidays!
