Sustainability
At Catalyst, sustainability is part of how we deliver, with thoughtful practices that reduce waste and support better workplace solutions.
Sustainability at Catalyst
At Catalyst, sustainability is not a standalone initiative. It is part of how we think, how we work, and how we deliver for our clients.
We focus on practical improvements that support our clients, our team, and the communities we serve. That includes reducing waste, improving material handling, supporting cleaner job sites, and building processes that make more thoughtful use of resources.
As a certified MillerKnoll dealer, we work with a manufacturer that shares our commitment to responsible practices. That mindset carries through every stage of our process, from warehousing and delivery to installation and cleanup. Along the way, our teams look for opportunities to reduce landfill waste, separate recyclable materials, and work more efficiently on every project.
A Practical Approach to Sustainability
It all begins with thoughtful partnerships and continues through the day-to-day details of project delivery. From the materials we specify to the way our teams handle on-site packaging and cleanup, we are always looking for smarter, more responsible ways to work.
LEED Accredited
Catalyst has a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional on staff who helps clients navigate sustainability requirements with clarity and confidence. From product education and material transparency to the documentation needed for certification, we support projects pursuing LEED, WELL, and other sustainability goals.
We have contributed to multiple award-winning projects and continue to support clients of all sizes with solutions that align with their environmental priorities, including RED LIST-free materials, certifications, and other sustainability-focused requirements.
Sustainable Products Reduce Ocean-Bound Plastic
At Catalyst Workplace Activation, we are proud to be a certified MillerKnoll dealer. MillerKnoll is a global leader in sustainable furniture, advancing environmental responsibility through thoughtful product development, responsible material choices, and long-term sustainability commitments.
As part of this commitment, MillerKnoll participates in NextWave Plastics, a global consortium focused on diverting ocean-bound plastic waste and transforming it into usable materials for product manufacturing. By incorporating recycled ocean-bound plastics into select products, MillerKnoll helps reduce plastic pollution while advancing more sustainable design practices across the furniture industry.
By choosing products from MillerKnoll, our clients gain access to workplace solutions that support both their design goals and sustainability priorities. It is another way we help create spaces that are not only functional and beautiful, but also more thoughtful about their environmental impact.
Reducing Waste Through Everyday Action
In the commercial furniture industry, materials like Styrofoam, shrink wrap, bubble wrap, and foam packaging are often treated as unavoidable waste. Not at Catalyst, we have worked to create change in how we approach recycling by creating a simple, scalable system that helps our teams sort recyclable materials, reduce landfill waste, and maintain cleaner job sites. In the first year of our recycling program, we diverted 27,235 cubic feet of Styrofoam and plastic from the landfill.
